Types of Demographic Based Sites

There are three types of attributes pertaining to the student records used for Demographics Based Sites. These attributes will not be able to be combined. See below for list of attributes and their descriptions.

Student Attributes

The student attributes include admission data about students. These include the attending school, current major, and admitted type. These attributes do not include courses that students registered for in an academic semester. For that, you will need to use the Course Attribute site.

Admitted Year – This is the last year for which the student has been admitted to Rutgers.

Admitted Term – This is the last term for which the student has been admitted to Rutgers.

Attending School – This is academic unit (school) associated with the student’s last term of attendance.

Student’s Major – A code indicating the curriculum (major) for which the student was registered during his/her last term of attendance.

Admission Type – A code indicating the student’s last category of admission.

Course Attributes

Course attributes are based on course registrations in academic semesters. Rosters will consist of the active students who have registered. These sites can be configured by School, Subject, Course, and Supplement Codes.

Course Year – The year in which this course is offered.

Course Term – The term in which this course is offered.

School Code – A school code indicating the unit offering the course.

Subject Code – A subject code indicating the subject area in which the course if offered.

Course Code – The number of this specific course. Course numbers are not unique. This code needs to be used with the Subject Code to specify a unique course.

Supplemental Code – A code which, if it contains a value, indicates that this is a specific supplemental course.

Term Attributes

Term attribute sites include the student types and their attendance status at the university. These sites should be used mainly for identifying active students in a particular term.

Year – The year to which this information applies.

Term – The term to which this information applies.

Attending School – This is academic unit (school) associated with the student’s last term of attendance.

RU Here Indicator – Indicator confirming a student’s intention to enroll for the term. Either Yes or No for each term.

Student Instruction Type – A code indicating the student’s method of instruction. Codes used to determine whether a student is fully online or in person.
