PlayPosit – How do I give grader access for Playposit only?

In certain situations, a Canvas instructor may have a grader assisting them. If the grader is an undergraduate, then it is advisable that the undergraduate grader not have access to the full Canvas gradebook. The steps outlined below allow a Canvas user to grade PlayPosit content without access to the Canvas gradebook.

  1. Enroll the (undergraduate) grader as a TA role in your Canvas course.
  2. Direct the grader to launch one PlayPosit assignment in your Canvas course. This will add the user as a collaborator in PlayPosit.
  3. Direct the grader to view their PlayPosit User Account to establish a password for to access the PlayPosit standalone website.
  4. Remove the TA role from the grader in Canvas. This will remove access from the Canvas gradebook.

The undergraduate grader will now have access to all of the bulbs assigned in that course.

Note: If a bulb is assigned after the TA role is removed, the grader will not have access to the newly assigned PlayPosit content. Make sure all bulbs are assigned to your course before applying the TA role.
