In consultation with Instructional Technology Support staff across Rutgers campuses, Rutgers IT – Enterprise Application Services – Education Technologies will sunset Kaltura IVQ on May 20, 2022. Users will need to migrate their in-video quizzes to PlayPosit. 

Migration of Kaltura IVQs to PlayPosit is a manual process. Quiz owners will need to export quiz data for retention purposes, if needed. 

How to Retrieve IVQ Questions

1. Select the Kaltura video.
2. Select Actions and then Launch Editor.
   
        
   
   
3. Under Details select the checkbox option Allow Download of Questions List. View questions and answers by selecting the 3D cube located below the Launch Editor page.
   
        
   
        
   
   
4. Click Done when finished.
5. Click Preview to preview the quiz.
6. Click the play button located on the bottom left corner then click on Pre-Test Available to download a PDF form of the quiz.
   
        

Note: Pre-Test does not denote correct answers and time stamp of the questions. Users will need to view the Launch Editor to view the correct answers and the time stamp of each individual questions.

How to Create a New Bulb in Canvas

1. Login to Canvas and navigate to the course you would like to connect to PlayPosit.
2. Select Assignments from the left column menu and add a new assignment.
   • Note: Complete/Incomplete grading is not compatible with PlayPosit. We do not recommend using this grading option. 
3. In the Submission Type field, select External Tool then Find.
   
        
   
   
4. Find PlayPosit from the pop-up menu and click Select.
   
        
   
   
5. Click Enter PlayPosit to access the Bulb Library.
   
        
   
   
6. To add new Kaltura video, select Add New Bulb.
   
        
   
   
7. Select Kaltura within the list of Video Sources.
   
      
   
   
8. Select the Kaltura video. 
   
      
   
   
9. Select Done. If you wish to edit captions, select Customize.
10. To add an interaction, click Add An Interaction At. Copy and paste the questions and answers from Kaltura IVQ PDF sheet into the PlayPosit video and add the type of question where interaction is intended. Please refer to the Type of Interactions in PlayPosit to review all the types of interactions.
    
         
    
    
11. Review Tags, Playback Options, and Privacy and then click Save.
