Rutgers.eduRutgers Canvas is pleased to announce the upgrade of Barnes & Noble’s First Day Course Materials from LTI 1.1 to LTI 1.3. First Day Course Materials app in Canvas allows students in participating courses to manage their status and gain direct access to eTextbook titles.
To participate in the First Day program, course instructors should discuss inclusion with their textbook representative or the textbook manager at their campus bookstore. If you do not see First Day Course Materials in your course navigation, please enable it by managing your course navigation links.
The existing integration was removed today, on May 12, 2025. Instructors should enable the new version now for their Summer and Fall 2025 semesters so students can access ebooks and opt-out of the program. Please contact the Rutgers Canvas Help Desk for technical questions and any concerns.
