Feature Release: Canvas Portfolio

Canvas Portfolio

Rutgers Canvas is pleased to announce the availability of Canvas Portfolio, which provides a modern, flexible way for students to collect work, reflect on learning, and showcase achievements. Canvas Portfolio replaces the legacy Canvas ePortfolio and Folio tools available in your account menu. It is expected that Canvas ePortfolio and Folio will be removed from Rutgers Canvas on June 30, 2026

Canvas Portfolio supports two distinct portfolio experiences:

  • Showcase Portfolios: Student‑initiated portfolios enable learners to showcase their growth across multiple learning experiences.
  • Evaluation Portfolios: Instructor-assigned portfolios define required evidence from one or multiple courses for students to curate and present work to support programmatic assessment across multiple courses.

Artifacts added to a portfolio may include:

  • Canvas submissions
  • Media and uploads
  • Written reflections and narratives
  • Work from academic, co‑curricular, or personal projects
