As of the evening of Friday, May 8, Canvas is accessible to Rutgers users. OIT will continue to monitor closely as we work to restore our normal operations following the Canvas global outage. If you have any questions or concerns, please call 833-OIT-HELP and choose option 7.

Canvas: Google Apps Maintenance event on May 29, 2020

Google Apps LTI

Instructure, the parent company of Canvas, will be performing maintenance on the Google Apps LTI in Rutgers Canvas on Friday, May 29, 2020, starting at 3 AM ET (7 AM UTC; click here to find out when you’ll be affected). Instructure will be increasing database capacity to meet increasing demand over a two hour period of time. Rutgers users will not be able to access Google Apps for the duration of the maintenance window.

During this two-hour period, users will not be able to:

  • Use Collaborations.
  • Access Google LTI documents post in Canvas
  • Submit assignments via the Google tab.

It is recommended that instructors change assignment due dates so they fall outside of the maintenance event.
