Canvas REGIS GradeSync Update

RU Faculty Tools – REGIS GradeSync

Availability
Available for the Spring 2020 grading period beginning May 7, 2020, 8:30am EST.

Summary
The REGIS GradeSync application will now use the letter grade displayed to the instructor in the “Total” column of the Gradebook. The letter grade will include all posted and unposted grades; the letter grade will omit excused, unsubmitted, and ungraded assignments. If an override grade is added, this grade will be used instead. It is the instructor’s responsibility to verify that all students are correctly graded before final submission to REGIS. The REGIS GradeSync Instructor Guide has been updated to reflect these changes.

Change Benefit
In the previous release, the calculated Final Letter Grade was used in the Canvas REGIS GradeSync application. In some cases, the calculated Final Letter Grade did not match the grade displayed to the instructor in the “Total” column of the Canvas Gradebook. This was due to an incomplete Gradebook with ungraded assignments or omitted grades. Grades displayed in the instructor view of the Gradebook now match the verification screen in Canvas REGIS Gradesync, improving usability and reducing confusion. It is the instructor’s responsibility to verify that all students are correctly graded before final submission to REGIS.
