Rutgers.eduRutgers Canvas is pleased to announce the upgrade of Rutgers Shout-Out! to LTI 1.3. Developed by Rutgers Camden IT, Rutgers Shout-Out! provides students with a means to share the pronunciation of their name. Students within Canvas may share an audio clip or phonetic spelling of their name.
While there are no changes in the user interface, Rutgers Shout-Out! uses the latest learning tool standards and is currently available. The existing integration has been renamed to include the deprecated label and will be removed on May 19, 2026. Rutgers Shout-Out! is available to course editors and instructors in Rutgers Canvas, where you can manage your course navigation. If Rutgers Shout-out was previously installed in your course, you will need to re-enable it in your course menu.
