Issues with Accessing PlayPosit Content in Canvas

PlayPosit

Students and instructors may experience issues accessing PlayPosit content in Rutgers Canvas. On Friday, May 10, 2023 at 2 pm, PlayPosit in Canvas was upgraded to the latest learning tools standard (LTI v1.3). Rutgers OIT was assured by PlayPosit that this upgrade would have no impact on users. This was confirmed by internal testing. After the upgrade, Canvas assignments created with the older LTI v1.1 standard were expected to launch seamlessly with the newer standard. Unfortunately, this is not the case.

Reported issues include:

  • Failure of grade passback for students who have completed the PlayPosit Bulb. This has implications for courses that restrict access to content based on pre-requisites (module progression).
  • Users attempting to access PlayPosit content receive an LTI 1.3 error.
  • Instructors cannot view student interactions for submissions completed before 2 pm on May 10, 2024.

Rutgers OIT is working with PlayPosit to determine the root cause of the issue. An expected resolution to this issue is still under review. We understand that this impacts your courses and your learning experience.
