Rutgers Canvas is pleased to offer training by the Hypothesis Instructional Design team for Introduction to Hypothesis. Hypothesis is a tool that allows instructors and students to take notes, view, and reply to other notes, along with other features. The Hypothesis team will share how teachers are using annotation-powered reading to help students develop foundational academic skills like close reading and persuasive writing.

In addition to sharing pedagogical best practices for social annotation, the team will demonstrate how Hypothesis is used with course readings in your learning management system, including how to set up annotation assignments.

Participants will gain a clear understanding of how to start incorporating social annotation into their courses to improve student outcomes. These sessions are great introductions to using Hypothesis and social annotation in your courses.
