New Quizzes Item Bank Bug

If you don’t use item banks in New Quizzes or never incorporate images or file links in item bank questions, this bug does not affect you.

A critical bug affecting item bank questions in the Canvas New Quizzes tool has been confirmed by Instructure. Only item bank questions with embedded images or links to files stored in the course Files tool are impacted.

In item bank questions affected by this bug, images or links to files stored in the course Files tool are only visible to students in the course where the question was first created. Students in other courses are unable to view the images and/or access the files links in these questions. As the instructor who created the questions, you will be able to see and access the images and files in any of your courses, which may create the false impression that your students will be able to access them as well.

Instructions on how to identify and remediate impacted questions as well as how to work around the bug when creating new questions are provided on this Google Doc.
