Flip is a free video discussion platform from Microsoft that helps educators see and hear from every student in class and foster a fun and supportive social learning environment. In Flip, educators post discussion prompts and students respond with short videos, whether they are learning in class or at home.
Instructors may create a Flip account for free by clicking Educator Sign-up on the Flip homepage. Please click “Sign up with Microsoft” and use your Rutgers Connect account (e.g., netid@domain.rutgers.edu). Once your account is created, you may use Flip as an integrated tool in Canvas.
Flip does not support admin or account-level setup. Additionally, existing Grids and Topics cannot be integrated. Instead, teachers need to set up their own integrations and it will create a new Grid & Topics for each course. For template courses, It is best practice to NOT pair your Canvas assignment to Flip content until the content is copied into a live course.
