Active faculty, staff and students log in to Canvas using their Rutgers NetID. Non-credit students and guests will be provided an Email Login. Please reach out to your program if you do not receive your login information.

Instructions on how to login with the Rutgers NetID or Email Address are shown below:

NetID Login

1. Navigate to the Rutgers Canvas Home Page.
2. Click NetID Login located on the top of the page.
3. Enter your NetID and Password and click Login.
4. When you log in, you will see your Canvas Dashboard.

Email Login

Part 1: Set up your password

If you already know your password, skip to Part 2

1. Navigate to the Rutgers Canvas Home Page.
2. Click Email Login located on the top of the page.
3. Click Forgot Password?
4. Type your email address as the Login ID  and click the Request Password button.
5. Return to your email account and sign in. Open the email titled Forgot Password: Canvas. The sender is from notifications@instructure.com
6. In your email, follow the directions to Click here to set a new password.
7. After you have changed your password, you will be brought back to the Canvas Login Page.

Part 2: Log into Canvas

1. Navigate to Rutgers Canvas Home Page.
2. Click Email Login located on the top of the page.
3. Enter your Email for the Login ID and the password you established in Part 1.
4. When you log in, you will see your Canvas Dashboard.
