In the event there is a service outage for Proctortrack, instructors will need to remove all elements of Proctortrack to allow students access to your Canvas Quiz.
Key elements of proctoring include addition of Proctortrack in your course navigation and a “Get Access code” button in your quiz direction which links to a Canvas assignment that serves as a Proctortrack launch point. These artifacts must be removed so that your students can access your Canvas quiz. Administratively, Proctortrack and related backend code was removed so that Proctortrack is no longer in your course navigation.
To allow your students to access your Canvas quiz, please:
- Delete and remove all Proctortrack created assignments and assignment groups.
- Navigate to your Canvas Course.
- Click on Assignments.
- Delete all Canvas assignments created by Proctortrack. These assignments are pre-appended with “[Proctoring]” and may be found in the Proctortrack Assignments (Launch links for proctored quizzes – not to be deleted) Canvas assignment group.
- For course clarity, you may delete the Proctortrack Assignments (Launch links for proctored quizzes – not to be deleted) assignment group.
- Edit your Canvas Quiz to remove the Get Access Code button.
- Navigate to your Canvas Course.
- Click on Quizzes.
- Click on your Canvas quiz with proctoring enabled.
- Edit your quiz.
- In Quiz Instructions, delete all content after your directions. This includes the horizontal line and the following text:
BEFORE YOU TAKE THIS QUIZ You will need to begin verification by obtaining your unique access code. Get Access Code - Scroll down to Access code.
- Delete the Access code.
- Save your quiz.
If you need assistance to remove the Proctortrack artifacts, please reach out to your school instructional support staff or the Rutgers Canvas Help Desk.
