Migration of PlayPosit to WeVideo on May 19, 2026

On May 19, 2026, Rutgers Canvas will migrate from PlayPosit to WeVideo. What would this mean for you?

All your existing PlayPosit content will be automatically and securely transferred to WeVideo. You will not lose any of your work or analytics.
You will continue to access your interactive videos seamlessly through Canvas, just as you do now. You will not have to relink your existing assignments. The connection between Canvas and WeVideo will be upgraded for improved security and performance.
You may notice a refreshed interface. This will not affect core functionality.
When adding or linking PlayPosit assignments in Canvas, use the updated WeVideo tool.

Why is this happening?

This move to WeVideo will provide a feature-rich platform for creating and delivering interactive video learning experiences. It also allows for continued innovation and improvement in the future. Several key benefits to all migrated users:

Training Schedule for Introduction to WeVideo Series

This session is designed for Rutgers faculty and staff transitioning from PlayPosit to WeVideo, the university’s new, expanded platform for interactive video and multimedia creation. While the “bulbs” and interactive features you loved in PlayPosit remain at the core of the experience, the migration to WeVideo unlocks a professional-grade creative suite that allows you to do more than just add questions—you can now build, edit, and collaborate on video content from scratch.
